Recently I read an article which made reference to President Carter and the fact that he was leaving his Baptist church because of the disrespect still being shown to women in general but particularly in the church. It stated that how women were treated by so called religious men was actually grounded in Bible verses that are used in support of their beliefs, chief among which the introduction of sin to humankind was squarely placed on Eve’s shoulder and by extension all women.
Whoever is to blame, they all three were punished for eating of the tree.
We all have to take responsibility for our own choices.

In present day Jamaica, just a few days ago, a Moravian Pastor is alleged to have been caught, by the police no less, having sex (or in a compromising position) with a fifteen year old girl and has since been charged with rape. On the news last night, I noted with great interest that members of his faithful flock gathered at the courthouse and tried to block the cameraman/men from taking pictures. Of course, I saw one woman even though the news spoke of more than one person, and I wonder how many of those women rushed to the side of the victim to console and support. As is well known, some of us women have a tendency to blame the victim and call her fast and loose.
Understand this, no matter how fast and loose she may be, and I don’t know her, that Minister, all sixty-four years of his age, had a duty as an authority figure, to protect and guide that fast and loose fifteen year old, not take advantage of a girl who could well have been his granddaughter.
The justice system operates on an innocent until proven guilty basis, but that was not a rumour, he was actually caught in flagrante delicto. Until all women stand with disadvantaged females, then these egregious acts will continue. I definitely would not be one of those women shielding an apparently known rapist, since there are other such allegations being investigated against this man of the cloth.
Fe him claat tear up, tear up!
Please note, the pastor was not charged because he is sixty and four years old. Any adult at the age of majority, eighteen years and over would be liable of the crime of rape of any teenaged child under sixteen years old.
I am still flabbergasted that people show so much interest in grown folk’s business when so many babies and under aged girls are being defiled by such men who are supposed to lead organizations and families.
Hm, a so man run t’ings!
